Design Questions
Are all items really handmade?
Yes. All Michael Day jewelry is designed by the artist himself. Each item is created start to finish by hand, ensuring each piece is an original piece of art.
What is the difference between gold-filled and gold-plated jewelry?
The difference between gold-fill and gold-plate is in the amount of gold. Gold-plated pieces have a very thin layer (seven-millionths of an inch) of gold, while 14K/20 gold-filled products must have at least one-twentieth of their entire weight in 14K gold.
This means that gold-plated items, while cheaper, will not last as long. Eventually the thin gold layer will rub off. Gold-filled items, however, will remain gold for a lifetime if cared for properly.
Will the item I order look exactly like it does online?
While we strive to match the online design as close as possible, handmade items are always subject to subtle variations in color, size, and shape. This is, in the end, what makes your purchase special.
If I like a piece I see online, but would like a difference color or stone, can I get a custom order made?
Absolutely. Michael Day Jewelry can recreate just about any design in your gemstone of choice. Just send us an email to let us know what you’d like and we will work with you to create your design.
Will my jewelry tarnish?
Sterling silver and gold-filled jewelry will not tarnish if cared for properly. Gold-plated and silver-plated jewelry, on the other hand, is susceptible to tarnish. Unless stated otherwise, Michael Day Jewelry pieces are sterling silver or gold-filled so your jewelry will last.
Does Michael Day Jewelry offer jewelry repair?
Yes. If you need a piece of jewelry repaired, we will fix it for a fee. The fee will be based on the labor involved in the repair.
Are all rings wire wrapped?
Unless stated otherwise, all Michael Day rings are wire wrapped, not cast. This means the rings tend to be more delicate than cast rings.
Ordering & Shipping Questions
How long will it take to receive my order?
Most domestic orders will be received in 7-10 days. All designs are made to order so the week allows for the design of the item(s) and shipping time.
Do you accept returns?
Your satisfaction is very important to us. If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, please send an email to info@michaeldayjewelry.com to alert us of any problems. A refunds or replacement will be issued based on circumstances. All returned items must be returned in good condition to:

What forms of payments do you take?
Michael Day Jewelry accepts all major credit cards (Mastercard, Visa, American Express, Discover, Diner’s Club). Credit card orders can be placed over the phone.
We also accept money orders and checks. All checks will be cleared before the order is shipped. For expedited service, credit card payment is best.
If I order a ring in the wrong size, can it be resized?
If you purchase a wire wrapped ring, you can send the ring back for resizing for a fee. It is essential that you verify your ring size before purchasing to prevent a delay in the order and to avoid additional labor and shipping costs.
